BECAUSE QUALITY COUNTS
As projects become more complex, Blue Coast consistently rises to meet the challenge, bringing ingenuity and imagination to every undertaking.
Our laboratory is skilled in the following areas of mineral processing:
Our sample preparation facilities can process samples ranging in mass from a few kilograms up to several tonnes of material – prioritizing accurate record keeping and timely communication throughout. We’re able to stage crush materials down to a specified top size before blending samples to produce replicate testwork charges. Blue Coast’s sample preparation facility includes ring and puck pulverisation, isolated bucking booths to minimise contamination and a range of screening equipment for sieve size sample analysis. pyrometallurgical testing, etc.
Blue Coast offers a wide range of flotation testing options. Our experienced team is equipped to navigate the most complex flotation issues, and in turn design robust, logical flowsheets for our clients. We are a fully equipped mineral processing laboratory, with multiple Denver D-12 flotation machines, in addition to a bulk flotation cell capable of receiving 10kg testwork charges.
Cyanidation testwork is an essential step to assess potential gold recovery from a sample. Blue Coast clients have the option of performing cyanidation bottle roll tests to simulate CIP/CIL and heap leach processes by controlling the top size of the material presented to each test. We are able to assess the impact of aeration, cyanide dosage, pH and various reagents to optimise leaching conditions. We are also equipped to undertake qualitative agglomeration assessments, coarse bottle roll, and column leach testing.
Complimenting our flotation and cyanidation testwork, Blue Coast has the capability to perform comprehensive centrifugal gravity amenability testwork using our MD-3 Knelson laboratory gravity concentrator. We adapt our testing according to the sample size available and the scale of investigation required by the client.
Blue Coast utilizes Bond’s Ball Work Index determination to complement our client’s flowsheet development programs. This test data can be used to characterise a deposit’s variability in hardness, and feed into comminution circuit design exercises using JK SimMet modelling software or power based methods. Blue Coast also facilitates complimentary grindability testing services through our trusted subcontractors.
PILOT PLANT SERVICES:
Blue Coast operates a continuous flotation pilot plant. The pilot plant is mobile allowing Blue Coast to support your test campaigns either from our laboratory in Parksville, or directly at your facility or mine site. Whether you need to gain additional confidence in your flowsheet through pilot plant testing or produce a bulk concentrate sample for the evaluation of downstream unit operations, Blue Coast can support your piloting project goals. Our pilot plant equipment can be adapted to support a wide variety of flowsheets and ore types. Please contact us to discuss the specifics of your project directly.
Blue Coast’s captive in-house analytical laboratory allows us to quickly and accurately analyze the samples and test products necessary to support your program. Analytical methods are selected to best support your rock type and target metals. Included in our analytical service offering is:
- Aqua regia and four-acid digestions followed by either AA or ICP finish
- Fire assay of gold, platinum and palladium
- Sulphur and carbon analysis
- Please contact us for specific questions related to your project.
It’s our job to guide our clients through the process, to ensure they have all the information they need to make the correct decision.”
