Geometallurgy & Mineral Processing Test-Work
Available Techniques, Benefits and Value Delivered
Actlabs and Blue Coast are pleased to present a brief program on current technologies for mining in the areas of geochemistry, geometallurgy, mineralogy, and mineral processing. The presentations will aim to show you some new and practical innovations, provide some useful and practical learning and showcase these areas of technology within our companies.
Part I: Geochemistry
Total, partial, or no decomposition at all? Each of these techniques can produce different results for the same sample, but which is correct? It depends on the elements of interest, sample mineralogy, and how the results will be used. This workshop will review the common options to help you understand the differences, gain mineralogical insight, and select methods most appropriate for your project and end use of the data.
Presented by Brent Mawdsley, B.Sc. Chemistry – Actlabs | 1:00pm-1:50pm
Part II: Geometallurgy
This presentation will take the participant through an overview of geometallurgy. What is it? How does it help project development? How does geology link to metallurgy? Why is mineralogy important? How to apply geometallurgy methodology? Real examples will be presented.
Presented by Steve Williams, B.App.Sc., MBA, FCIM -Blue Coast | 2:00pm-3:00pm
Part III: Mineralogy
Mineralogical analysis has exploded in the last 10 years with the arrival of advanced automated mineralogy. What is this? How do you apply this to projects? The presentation will provide real examples of valuable mineralogical investigations.
Presented by Mahdi Ghobadi, Ph.D., P.Geo. – Actlabs | 3:15pm-4:15pm
Part IV: Mineral Processing
From sample selection to sample characterisation and application of mineral processing best practices the participant will be presented with real world case studies that aim to provide an overview of our approach to flowsheet development.
Presented by Dave Middleditch, B.Eng., ACSM – Blue Coast | 4:30pm-5:30pm
Room 204 North Building Metro Toronto Convention Centre
255 Front Street West, Toronto, M5V 2W6
